Hiroshi, an ordinary boy living in Ōba Keichō, is just like any other kid. One day, he encounters a ghost cat yōkai named Bonyan. After accidentally becoming possessed by Bonyan, Hiroshi is forced to help create the "Yōkai Encyclopedia"... Using a special smartphone called the "Bakeho," the two begin photographing the yōkai lurking all over town—in homes, schools, hospitals, parks, and everywhere else. Though each yōkai has its own unique traits, as long as Hiroshi follows Bonyan’s instructions, even a scaredy-cat like him can handle it! Will the two be able to complete the "Yōkai Encyclopedia" without a hitch...?
