"The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn" is the prequel sister film to "The Crab with the Golden Claws." It tells the story of how Tintin buys an ancient ship model as a gift for Captain Haddock, setting off yet another thrilling adventure. From an old diary, they uncover the history of this ancient ship model. The Unicorn hides a tale of pirates and treasure. With the help of their friends, Detectives Thomson and Thompson, Tintin, Snowy, and the Captain set out to unravel the secret of the Unicorn. Despite numerous challenges, Tintin succeeds and embarks on a quest to find Red Rackham's treasure. The film, jointly created by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, was one of the most highly anticipated blockbusters of 2011. Compared to the comics, the appearance of the protagonist Tintin, played by Jamie Bell, remains largely unchanged—still wearing his iconic blue sweater and brown breeches, though his white socks have been replaced with black ones. The movie was produced using "performance capture + CG animation." Spielberg explained that the decision to avoid live-action was to preserve the unique visual style of the original comics as much as possible.
