On this day, the little mouse Jerry was being chased by Tom and had no time to choose his escape route. Suddenly, he heard cries for help nearby. The voice came from the big dog Spike (voiced by Billy Bletcher), who had been captured by the dogcatchers and locked in a car, desperately begging Jerry to help him escape the cage. With Jerry's assistance, Spike regained his freedom. To thank his little savior, Spike promised Jerry that whenever he was in trouble, he only needed to whistle, and Spike would arrive immediately. Before long, Jerry fell into Tom's clutches and was about to become Tom's breakfast. In a moment of desperation, Jerry blew his whistle, and Spike rushed over like a gust of wind, giving Tom a harsh lesson.
