That year, the Yellow River burst its banks once again, turning Qingzhou into a vast expanse of water. Jiang Shang, under his father's orders, journeyed south to Gouwu to learn flood control from Zhongyong and to search for the Qingzhou Ding (one of the Nine Dings of Yu the Great), which was engraved with a map of the Yellow River's water system. The Crown Prince of Shang (later King Zhou of Shang) had long been wary of the Eastern and Western Lords (Zhongyong's father among them). Upon learning of Jiang Shang's southern journey, he dispatched the sorcerer Kuixinzi to secretly monitor Jiang Shang and investigate the situation in Gouwu. Thus, the story begins...
