In the deep winter, snow blankets the land. Deep in the forest stands a small wooden cabin. The cabin is locked, and no one has visited for a long time. Inside the cabin’s coal stove at the very back, two mischievous and adorable chipmunks are fast asleep in a bed made from a matchbox, cozy under a quilt of dry grass that keeps the cold at bay. The snow has stopped, and the sky begins to clear. The little ones wake from their slumber, wash their faces, rinse their mouths, and stretch their limbs. Just then, voices can be heard outside—it’s the cabin’s owner, Mickey, and his beloved dog, Pluto. The master and his servant enter, intending to light a fire for warmth, which frightens the chipmunk brothers inside the stove. At first, they manage to drive away Pluto, who tries to place firewood inside. An angry Pluto attempts to catch them but ends up being scolded by Mickey instead. This infuriates Pluto, who then devises every possible way to burn these two little troublemakers to death...
