The ink-wash animation "Yan Zhen" was produced by the Changchun Film Studio's Animation Division. It depicts a formation of wild geese overcoming the assault of a storm during a long flight. However, while resting overnight in a reed marsh, the subjective and arbitrary decisions of the lead goose nearly lead to the entire flock's annihilation. The entire film features refreshing visuals, profound allegories, and rich connotations, with a unique creative approach. As a result, it received widespread acclaim and numerous honors, including the Best Animation Award at the 11th Golden Rooster Awards for Chinese Film, the Participation Award at the 4th Hiroshima International Animation Festival, and a Special Honor Certificate at the 2nd Shanghai International Animation Festival.
