After the suppression of the 1959 Tibet rebellion, the Sarji grassland was struck by a locust plague. The higher authorities decided to dispatch aircraft to eliminate the locusts. Rinchen, a reactionary herdowner disguised as an emancipated serf, and Wangjin, a fugitive bandit leader, conspired to sabotage the locust eradication by exploiting religious superstitions. Rinchen incited Grandma Jiga to prevent the removal of the superstitious and harmful prayer flagpoles, aiming to stir unrest and obstruct the construction of a temporary airfield. Huordan led his young companions in a direct confrontation with Rinchen, exposing the rumors he spread and ensuring the timely completion of the temporary airfield. Later, Huordan and Dawa overheard Rinchen and Wangjin secretly plotting to blow up the aircraft with a time bomb at the entrance of a mountain cave. As the two prepared to return and report this information, they were unfortunately discovered by the enemies at the cave entrance. After a struggle, Huordan and Dawa were captured. Huordan cleverly used the fire inside the cave to burn through the ropes binding him, escaped the enemies, and, with the help of the militia captain, captured Wangjin alive. Subsequently, Huordan assisted Secretary Basang in apprehending Rinchen and defusing the time bomb.
