In the southern regions of Vietnam, the American invading forces ordered the security teams to drive all adults away to construct fortifications, leaving the children in strategic hamlets to be prepared for blood transfusions for American wounded soldiers. Guerrilla fighter Brother Thap informed the underground party leaders—Aunt Six and Uncle Gan, an underground party member disguised as the village chief—about the enemy's sinister plot. Aunt Six entrusted the task of evacuating and protecting the children to the Young Pioneers' leader, A Bei. After leading the Young Pioneers to complete the mission, A Bei was ordered to notify the villagers working on the fortifications—once the signal flare was fired, they were to immediately return to the village to surround the enemy and destroy the strategic hamlet. On his way back from delivering the message, A Bei discovered that the puppet troops were searching near the cave where the children were hiding. Cleverly, he used stones to injure the American advisor's wolfhound, diverting the enemy's attention. Unable to find the children, the enemy captured Aunt Six. Just as the American advisor ordered Aunt Six to be hanged, someone suddenly shouted, "Stop!" It was A Bei, who ran over to shield Aunt Six. The enemy immediately turned their attention to A Bei, coaxing him into revealing the children's whereabouts. Initially refusing, A Bei later pretended to agree under Uncle Gan's signal. He led the enemy into the bamboo forest and seized the opportunity to escape. Meanwhile, Aunt Six and Uncle Gan knocked out the puppet soldiers guarding them and launched the signal flare. Subsequently, with the assistance of the guerrilla fighters, they led the villagers in eliminating the enemy and destroying the strategic hamlet.
