Long ago, the little insects had eaten up all the wild fruits on the earth. Little Bee was very worried, but Little Earthworm didn’t seem to care at all. Then, a heavy rain washed the little earthworms out of their burrows. Cold and hungry, they went to the Trumpet Vine to ask for food, but the Trumpet Vine did not bear fruit. They then went to the Apricot Blossom, who told them they must help spread pollen before it could bear fruit. Little Bee overcame difficulties to help the Apricot Blossom pollinate, and through hard work, grew and developed into a lovely little bee. Little Earthworm, who disliked labor, grew a longer and longer neck and turned into an earthworm. Little Daylily said to it, "As long as you love labor from now on, everyone will still welcome you." From then on, Little Earthworm helped loosen the soil for plants. Thanks to the diligent work of Little Earthworm and Little Bee, they were welcomed by all, and the earth once again bore abundant fruit.
