The story takes place in a water town in Jiangnan. On a summer night with a bright moon and sparse stars, three little boys with bowl-cut hairstyles are playing by the river. The chubby boy dips his head into the water, hoping to see the creatures inside, only to have his hand bitten by a fish with sharp teeth. At that moment, a dark figure flashes behind the boys. They turn to look and see a slender man dressed in black, treading lightly over the rooftops. Filled with curiosity, the children quietly follow him. The man in black possesses extraordinary skills and quickly notices the three little rascals trailing him. To prevent his whereabouts from being exposed, he decides to silence them permanently.
