In the vast and colorful forest, during a refreshing and pleasant season, little animals frolic freely across the woods and plains. A little red fox (voiced by Christine Buffle) breaks free from her mother's embrace and dashes through the forest, completely lost in joy. At that moment, a gloomy hunter (voiced by Grant Doyle) arrives in the forest. All the little animals hide in fear, but the little fox, too caught up in her excitement, is eventually captured by the hunter and taken to his home. Two months pass, and the little fox, tied up in the yard every day and often bullied by children, thinks of her long-unseen mother as night falls. Using her wits, the little fox finally escapes the hunter's house. However, the journey back to her forest home is filled with countless thorns and hardships. Can she rely on her cleverness to overcome them one by one? This film is adapted by the British BBC from the opera of the same name by Czech composer Leoš Janáček.
