In the pitch-black soil, a little earthworm opens its eyes in a daze. It wriggles its body with all its might, curiously exploring the world around it. It crawls aimlessly in all directions when suddenly it encounters another little earthworm, and both are startled by each other. Before long, the two little ones become familiar with one another and happily begin digging tunnels in the soil, creating exquisite and intricate patterns. They even conquer heavy, massive boulders. However, during their journey, the two earthworms eventually disagree. In the end, they each go their separate ways, following the directions they envisioned, and arrive at the outside world. The sky is blue, the grass green, the water clear, surrounded by birdsong and the fragrance of flowers, along with clumsy, adorable little snails. Yet danger lurks everywhere, as a greedy big bird sets its sights on the little earthworm, who is lost in admiration of the beautiful scenery... This film won the Best Children's Film Production Award at the 1994 Ottawa International Animation Film Festival.
