In the Gothic city belching thick steam, a rare virus is currently ravaging the population. With no effective medical treatment available, citizens are dying one after another, and despair shrouds the entire city. Navigator Jasper Morello (voiced by Joel Edgerton) is tormented by guilt from a past voyage where his mistake led to the captain's death. On this day, a new maritime mission arrives: the Gothic city has opened a new trade route to the Republic of Lawrentia, and Jasper's ship is tasked with placing guiding beacons along the way for the fleet. On the day of departure, a new guest boards their vessel—Dr. Claude Belgon (voiced by Helmut Bakaitis), a controversial biologist.
