In a certain location in the American West, a grand steeplechase is being held. Mickey (voiced by Walt Disney) and his racehorse partner "Lightning" are about to enter the track. Minnie (voiced by Marcellite Garner) offers enthusiastic encouragement and deep affection, while his sponsor has placed all bets on "Lightning." However, at this critical moment, "Lightning" decides to act like a diva. No matter how Mickey urges and pleads, the big star pays no attention, leisurely taking a little bath instead. Left with no other choice, Mickey finds two helpers, has them put on horse costumes, and reluctantly enters the competition.
