On a chilly spring day, with patches of ice floating on the river, Mickey (voiced by Walt Disney) and his girlfriend Minnie (voiced by Marcellite Garner) take their beloved dog Pluto (voiced by Pinto Colvig) for a walk in the countryside. Suddenly, Pluto spots a wriggling sack drifting on the river. Mickey and the others fish it out, only to find it filled with newborn kittens! Who could have been so heartless as to throw these innocent little lives into the river, attempting to snuff out their fragile existence? The kind-hearted Mickey and Minnie take the kittens home, warming them up, grooming their fur, and preparing food for them. Pluto, watching nearby, feels happy too, but a dark side of his mind emerges, warning him that the kittens are stealing his owners' affection away from him. Meanwhile, his kind-hearted side urges him to treat these little lives with care. What choice will Pluto make?
