On a clear, tranquil, and sunny day. Mickey (voiced by Walt Disney) and his dog Pluto are leisurely boating on the lake. Unknowingly, their small boat drifts to the center of the lake, where a "No Fishing" sign stands upright on the water's surface. Mickey pays it no mind—he pulls out the sign, ties a horseshoe to it, and sinks it into the water. Mickey signals to Pluto to stay quiet, and then master and servant begin fishing from the bow and stern of the boat. However, things don’t go smoothly at all. The fish in the water are incredibly cunning, teasing Mickey and Pluto in every possible way. Enraged, Pluto jumps into the water, only to become the target of the fish's playful antics.
