What is happiness? Linus says happiness is that blue blanket, still beautiful even when it's torn or damp; Lucy says happiness is gazing tenderly at the boy playing the piano, even if his eyes are only on Beethoven; Snoopy says happiness is lying on the little red doghouse, waking up naturally. Linus's source of happiness—the blanket—is always by his side. The more Linus loves this blanket, the more his friends wish it would disappear. So Linus's sister Lucy tricks him, saying that if he doesn't break this habit, their soon-to-arrive grandmother will personally deal with him. These words send shivers down Linus's spine. With the help—or interference—of his friends, Linus embarks on a journey to forget his blanket. But parting is always especially painful, and a heartbroken Linus just wants to tell everyone: I just need my blanket, is that so wrong?
