Twelve-year-old DJ (Mitchel Musso) is a kid with a wild imagination. He’s convinced that the creepy, abandoned house across the street, owned by the old man, is up to no good—especially since objects in the neighborhood keep mysteriously disappearing. After careful observation, DJ discovers that the missing items are actually being eaten by the house. He figures the old man’s missing wife must have met the same fate. But the adults, and even his friends, think DJ is just letting his imagination run wild. On the day before Halloween, DJ and his friend Chowder (Sam Lerner) accidentally throw their basketball onto the porch of the old house. They watch in horror as a mysterious force sucks the ball right inside. Even Jenny (Spencer Locke), the new girl in the neighborhood, almost becomes the house’s next meal. Now, DJ’s friends finally believe him—though the adults still think they’re full of it. To stop the house from devouring more people and causing more trouble, the kids band together to take it down once and for all.
