In the new season, Mater's (voiced by Larry the Cable Guy) fun, imaginative, and wildly entertaining tall tales continue. In his latest adventures, he once played with a UFO baby also named Mater and learned how to fly; he also traveled across the ocean to Tokyo as an import car to compete in the Drift King showdown; he even entered the wrestling world under the alias "Mater the Greater," challenging one powerful monster truck after another. He has also been a heavy metal singer, an astronaut, and a private detective—truly a life full of diverse experiences. Of course, his good buddy Lightning McQueen (voiced by Keith Ferguson) still doesn't believe Mater's wild stories, yet he can't help but become a key character in each of Mater's tales every time. What's real and what's fake? It's hard to tell. In the private detective story, the short also reveals the reason why Mater is missing one headlight. "Mater's Tall Tales" is a series of animated shorts produced by Pixar after "Cars," focusing on the supporting character Mater, created for broadcast on Disney Channel.
