The adorable, straightforward, and simple-minded Dug (voiced by Bob Peterson) is wandering among the rocks, feeling particularly happy because today is his birthday. Just as he is enjoying this once-a-year joyful moment, he nearly collides with the sandpiper Kevin. It turns out that the three villainous dogs, Alpha (voiced by Bob Peterson), Beta (voiced by Delroy Lindo), and Gamma (voiced by Jerome Ranft), are chasing Kevin, only to have their plans accidentally ruined by Dug. Initially furious, the cunning Alpha comes up with a devious idea. He assigns Dug a task: to guard the huge rock at the edge of the cliff and report to the three dogs if the rock moves. Unaware of the trick, Dug is overjoyed, but to his surprise, the rock actually starts moving. Afterward, he receives other strange tasks, as Alpha and the others originally intended to keep him occupied and prevent him from interfering with their pursuit. However, their cleverness backfires, and Alpha's cunning ultimately leads to his own downfall... This short film is a bonus feature included on the DVD and Blu-ray releases of "Up."
