Pucca is an animated series produced by the American Walt Disney Company under license from the Korean company Vooz. The story follows Pucca, the operator of the Dragon Restaurant in Suga Village, who falls madly in love with a ninja boy named Garu. With her terrifying superhuman strength, she inadvertently manages to capture Garu's heart. With the television series airing on Disney Channel, it sparked a wave of popularity across Europe, America, and Asia. DVD-Video versions were sold only in some countries, while the UK developed a series of Pucca children's books. Stationery product lines also entered mass retail stores in Europe and America. In Israel, an independent brand of snacks was launched. In South Korea, the original comic series continues to be published and has been translated into Spanish, German, and Chinese, featuring standalone stories centered around Pucca traveling the world. Their companions include Abyo, Ching, Ssoso, and pets Mio, Yani, and the chick Won. Among them, Ching has feelings for Abyo, while the house cat Mio is fond of the flirtatious Yani.
