For Wallace (voiced by Peter Sallis) and Gromit, who adore cheese, a day without it is simply unimaginable. This time, our ingenious Wallace becomes convinced that the pale yellow moon holds an inexhaustible supply of cheese in all flavors imaginable. So, he gathers materials and tools and sets to work building a spaceship. After tremendous effort, the spacecraft finally roars off toward the moon. On the lunar surface, cheese truly is everywhere. Wallace picks through it all, searching fastidiously for his favorite flavors, and along the way, he unexpectedly encounters a coin-operated robot. Little does he know, however, that the robot does not appreciate outsiders coming to plunder the moon's cheese and devises various methods to drive Wallace and his companion away. Yet the gluttonous Wallace remains completely unaware of the danger approaching him... This film won the 1990 BAFTA Award for Best Animated Film.
