The anime "Cyber City OEDO 808" consists of only three episodes. The story is set in the year 2808 AD, in the highly mechanized prison of the futuristic city OEDO, where three convicts are selected to become mobile detectives. They are tasked with pursuing fugitives like real police officers, and as compensation, the sentences of the criminals they capture are deducted from their own. However, each of them wears a collar around their neck containing explosives. If they disobey orders or attempt to escape, they will meet the fate of becoming headless corpses. Under the constant pressure of imminent death and the hope of potential exoneration, the three detectives engage in fierce battles with criminals in the city. The first episode depicts the mobile detectives capturing a computer hacker. The brain of a deceased computer genius is connected to a skyscraper's bio-computer, which takes control of a satellite laser cannon in an attempt to destroy the building and kill those who harmed him in the past. The second episode follows the mobile detectives battling an android weapon. A woman infiltrates a Japanese special forces unit to steal the latest research data, and while evading the military's pursuit, she seeks help from the mobile detectives. However, it all turns out to be a trap, with the real purpose being to test the performance of a new killing machine using the mobile detectives. The third episode revolves around a vampire disturbance, telling the story of three black-market medical inventors who are murdered. The common cause of death is being drained of blood by an unknown creature, and mysterious codes written in blood are found on each body. The mobile detectives are assigned to investigate the truth behind the vampire.
