Based on the popular manga "Pilot Ace" by founder Tatsuo Yoshida, this is a remake of the 1967 series of the same name, which was Tatsunoko Production's first color work and gained explosive popularity. Ken'ichi Hibiki was a racer and engineer. He died in an accident while test-driving a new special engine, "X". His father, Daisuke, took possession of the test car Mach Go equipped with "X" as his memento. Several years later, Daisuke restored Mach Go. Equipped with seven protective mechanisms to safeguard the driver, he entered it in Grand Prix races. The driver is Ken'ichi's younger brother, Go.
