A thousand years ago, in the fairy realm of Heian-cho, there lived a fairy noble child named Prince Ojarumaru of Saka-no-Ue. One day, Ojarumaru obtains the "Scepter of King Enma." While fleeing from King Enma, he falls through the "Hole of the Moon" and arrives in Gekko-cho. Taking a liking to Gekko-cho, Ojarumaru decides to live in the home of Kazuma, an elementary school student he meets there. The three little ogres also arrive, trying to reclaim the scepter, and the eccentric townspeople get swept up in the lively, hilarious commotion that unfolds.
