The film is set in Los Angeles in May 2022 (three years after the events of *Blade Runner* (1982)). The Tyrell Corporation decides to produce the longer-lived replicant model "NEXUS-8," sparking protests worldwide and leading humans to hunt down replicants. Iggy, a replicant infantry soldier who escaped the cosmic battlefield, rescues Trixie, a replicant call girl being bullied, and recruits her for his mission: to destroy the Tyrell Corporation's replicant database, making it impossible for humans to continue hunting replicants.
