In the ongoing adventures of Ling Yufei and the Canal Spirits protecting the history of the Grand Canal, they finally succeed in awakening the Sand Spirit, who had been polluted by silt. One day, Yufei and the Canal Spirits, including the Sand Spirit, visit the Grand Canal Forest Park. During their tour, everyone marvels at the miraculous craftsmanship behind the construction of the Tongzhou Canal Park. Suddenly sensing something, the Sand Spirit dives underwater and, together with the other Canal Spirits, drives out the Black Sand lurking beneath the surface. After a fierce battle, the Black Sand disappears without a trace. Grandpa Jade Elephant then reveals that it was actually the silt that had long been attached to the Sand Spirit, which, having absorbed the Sand Spirit’s spiritual energy, transformed into this new form of Black Sand. The Black Sand has returned to history to sabotage the canal, but this time, its spiritual energy is insufficient, so it cannot venture far—likely remaining near the Tongzhou area. To stop the Black Sand, Yufei and the Canal Spirits once again travel back through history, tracking it down to safeguard the safety of the Tongzhou section of the Grand Canal.
