As suggested by the title 【The Emperor's New Groove 2: Kronk's New Groove】, Kronk, the lovable oaf who was originally the assistant to the evil priestess Yzma, is about to take center stage. In fact, this character unexpectedly became the audience's favorite in the original film, and voice actor Patrick Warburton was praised for the year's best comedic performance because of it. Now, he actually gets a spin-off despite being a supporting character—truly a case of fortune favoring the foolish! The story of this film follows Kronk, who previously helped restore King Kuzco to the throne and freed himself from Yzma's tyrannical rule. Nowadays, Kronk is not only the head chef at a local restaurant in the kingdom but also the leader of a scout troop. He even has a love interest in his life, Birdwell, and is living quite contentedly. However, one day, he hears that his father is coming to visit, which throws him into disarray. It turns out that Kronk and his father, Papi, have never really gotten along. Kronk has always longed for his father's approval, but Papi is endlessly critical of his son. Upon hearing of his father's impending visit, Kronk becomes anxious and decides to pull out all the stops to win his father's favor. His friends all rally to help him, and even Yzma chips in with some dubious advice, leading to a series of hilarious and uproarious misadventures. This film is co-directed by Saul Andrew Blinkoff and Elliot M. Bour. As for the voice cast, the original film's actors reprise their roles, including David Spade, John Goodman, Eartha Kitt, and Patrick Warburton. New characters are voiced by actors such as Tracy Ullman and John Mahoney, among others. The film's score is composed by Jeanine Tesori.
