The story picks up where the first film left off. Since the jungle boy Mowgli (voiced by Haley Joel Osment) met the human girl Shanti (voiced by Mae Whitman), he has been living with her in the human village. However, having left the jungle life behind, Mowgli finds himself deeply missing his animal friends in his new environment, especially the kind black bear Baloo (voiced by John Goodman), who treated him so well. The call from the distant forest compels Mowgli to decide to return to the embrace of the jungle. Yet the once carefree life in the forest now becomes fraught with danger. His old nemesis, the tiger Shere Khan (voiced by Tony Jay), is brewing a revenge plan. Directed by Disney cartoon director Steve Trenbirth, "The Jungle Book 2" maintains Disney's signature lighthearted and humorous style. The renowned child star Haley Joel Osment voices his fourth Disney cartoon, while the highly acclaimed voice actor John Goodman lends his talent with heartfelt dedication. With its smooth storyline, vibrant characters, and exquisite music and sound effects, "The Jungle Book 2" once again crafts a jungle adventure story filled with innocence and affection.
