And so, the wind was blowing. I felt my hair tickling my cheek. That poem by Kenji Miyazawa came to mind. It’s my favorite poem, one I learned after I started going to the library. “The wind is calling outside.” I couldn’t sit still any longer, so I opened the notebook I had in my bag. Of course, to write a poem. And that’s how the opening lines of this poem were born. People will say it’s just another quote, won’t they? It’s true. If you only look at the finished piece, it might seem no different from usual. But for me, this was a huge step. It was the first time. Not searching for words just to quote something, but searching for words to express my current heart, and then quoting. Truly, this was the first time.
