The story takes place after the Clone Wars, as Emperor Palpatine's reign is about to begin. Maul plans to rebuild his criminal organization on a planet untouched by the Empire, where he encounters a disillusioned Jedi apprentice—who may just be the ally he needs on his path to vengeance.
