The sun rises and the moon sets, in an endless cycle. Years pass by, decades in the blink of an eye. On a sorrowful night, the supreme monarch passes away, and the entire world mourns. Not long after, a warrior clad in armor and a red robe arrives in this city that has long been shrouded in darkness. The city is like a labyrinth, intricate and winding, gloomy and cold, filled with hidden dangers. Decaying female statues trail the warrior, setting countless treacherous traps in an attempt to halt his advance toward the throne. This film is a stop-motion animation, produced and directed by Václav Svankmajer, the son of renowned Czech animation master Jan Svankmajer, and it won the Student Jury Award at the 2006 Krakow Film Festival in Poland.
