"Samadhi" is both mystical and enigmatic, an extraordinary fusion of movement, sound, and color. Belson acknowledges the influence of his study and practice of Yoga and Tibetan Buddhism on the creation of "Samadhi." The film draws inspiration from the principles of yogic meditation: the movement of consciousness toward samadhi (the union of subject and object), the fusion of atma (breath and mind), a state that unveils the divine force of kundalini—a brilliant white light discovered at the conclusion of "Samadhi." The Tibetan Book of the Dead inspires Belson's use of color in the film, corresponding to the book's descriptions of the elements: Earth, Fire, Air, and Water. —Sophie Pinchetti, The Third Eye
