This is the story of a certain brother and sister, a sudden visit from penguins, and the past and future of this world— To save their ailing sister, Himari Takakura, the twin brothers Kana and Shoma Takakura follow the orders of a mysterious penguin hat to search for the "Penguindrum." Believing it to be her destiny, Ringo Oginome carries out the events written in her diary. Masako Natsume, who seeks to create a new future, aims to obtain Ringo's diary. Takashi Tōru and Yuri Takashiro strive to achieve their goals to reclaim their important fated person. They are all pursuing the "Penguindrum" for their own destinies and for the sake of those dear to them. Ten years later— Kana and Shoma board the train that once changed their fate, returning from the terminal station of destiny... Guided by a mysterious baby penguin, Kana and Shoma arrive at a wondrous library filled with towering bookshelves. "Welcome, children of fate!" Suddenly, the bookshelves part, and a girl wearing a penguin hat appears before them. "This is your story." From the self-proclaimed librarian, Momoka Oginome, they receive a book and are entrusted with an "important mission." "I must tell you before someone else does something. Find what you must do, and save the world!" So what will Kana and Shoma discover...!?
