"History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi" has announced the production of an OVA animation following its TV anime adaptation in 2006. The OVA will be bundled with the 46th volume of the manga, set for release on March 16, 2012, adopting the popular OAD model of this year. The OVA's storyline will continue directly from where the TV anime concluded, and the script will be personally handled by the original author, Syun Matsuena.
The production team for this OVA differs from the 2006 TV version, with Brain's Base taking over as the animation studio. Consequently, all production staff have been replaced by employees from Brain's Base. The voice actress for the heroine, Fuurinji Miu, was originally Ms. Kawakami Tomoko. Unfortunately, Ms. Kawakami passed away last year due to cancer. In this OVA, the role of Fuurinji Miu will be taken over by the tsundere queen, Kugimiya Rie, while the voice actors for other characters remain unchanged. Additionally, new characters appearing in the OVA will be voiced by renowned voice actors such as Midorikawa Hikaru, Koshimizu Ami, and Namikawa Daisuke, making the voice cast even more spectacular.
