Kanon

This is a love story about a boy who, due to family circumstances, comes to live in a northern town at the home of his cousin, and the girls he meets in that town. As a game, players must choose one of these girls to advance the story. Even in the original adult version, erotic elements are quite minimal, with the main focus being on the girls' backgrounds and their related stories. 　　 Many fans have praised it as a masterpiece that moved them to tears. Since then, games incorporating deeply emotional and touching elements, commonly known as "nakige" (tear-jerker games), have gained popularity, significantly influencing later text-based adventure romance games. 　　 This is the first Kanon adaptation by Toei Animation.
