This is a shop where any wish can be granted, as long as the client is willing to pay an equivalent price. Guided by fate, those destined to do so will inevitably enter this shop to make their requests. High school student Kimihiro Watanuki possesses an unusual constitution—he can see and attract all kinds of spirits and monsters. His close friends, Himawari Kunogi and Shizuka Doumeki, are also individuals with special abilities. After the original shop owner, Yūko Ichihara, disappeared, Kimihiro Watanuki took over the shop as its new proprietor, waiting day after day for Yūko's return. One night, Doumeki's grandfather appears at the shop and asks Kimihiro to help him fulfill a wish. After accepting the request, Kimihiro enters Doumeki's dream. Within the dream, he witnesses various past experiences shared between Doumeki and himself, now on the verge of being consumed by darkness. Between dream and reality, past lives and the future, he sees the deeply interconnected fates binding himself and those around him. Finally, upon returning to reality, Kimihiro discovers that Shizuka Doumeki has actually come to visit the shop...
