The boy wanted to protect the girl. Yes, that was what he thought. Masters and Servants battle for the wish-granting Holy Grail—ten years after the Holy Grail War, the conflict begins once more in Fuyuki City. Shirou Emiya, adopted son of Kiritsugu Emiya, a participant in the previous Holy Grail War, resolves to fight and carry on his father’s will. By Shirou’s side is a girl who adores him—Sakura Matou. Every morning and evening, she visits Shirou’s home to prepare breakfast and dinner, spending gentle days with him, who had once been all alone. But as the Holy Grail War begins, the atmosphere flowing through Fuyuki changes. Murder cases occur here and there, and an unsettling air starts to drift through the city. Shirou decides to let Sakura stay at his house. Together with the Servant Saber, whom he summoned, Shirou forms an alliance with the mage Rin Tohsaka and faces the Holy Grail War. Yet, the war begins to creak and distort under the machinations of those who lurk in the shadows.
