The Kingdom of Arendelle is home to two princesses with vastly different personalities—Elsa and Anna. Elsa, the elder sister, is as cold as ice, elegant and proper in her demeanor, while Anna is lively, impulsive, and loves adventure. Elsa possesses the magical power of freezing, but after accidentally striking her younger sister Anna during play in their childhood, she has since kept her distance from others, especially Anna, fearing she might harm her beloved sister again. When Elsa comes of age and must take on the responsibility of ruling the kingdom, the city gates, closed for many years, are reopened. Elsa, burdened by the secret of her magic, is under immense pressure. A heated argument between the two sisters causes Elsa's suppressed emotions to erupt, and she flees home in anger. However, a momentary unleashing of her magic plunges the entire kingdom into an icy, frozen state. To break the spell, Anna braves the snowstorm to find her sister. Along the way, she meets Kristoff, an adventurous mountaineer, his loyal reindeer with a dog-like personality, and Olaf, a naive and hilarious snowman. The four of them embark on a grand journey together, challenging the frigid, snow-capped mountains and various perils along the way in order to save the kingdom from impending doom...
