Shin-chan and his mother are shopping at a department store, where he pesters her into buying the latest Masked Hero toy sword. After returning home, something strange happens—the sword turns into an ordinary bamboo stick. On his way home from kindergarten, Shin-chan encounters a dog that looks exactly like Shiro, except it's black. Shin-chan names it Kuro and brings it home, successfully persuading his parents to let Kuro stay. Just as the Nohara family is enjoying their peaceful days, the gate to the dark world of Crayon is opened, and an evil plot to dominate the Earth is secretly set in motion. One day, a well-endowed woman who calls herself "Puririn" approaches Shin-chan, telling him he is the chosen hero who must fight the evil forces from the dark gate. From that day on, misfortune strikes the Nohara family repeatedly—his father loses a promotion opportunity, and his mother fails in a bargain sale battle. The power of darkness quietly begins to invade their lives. One night, Shin-chan gets up to use the bathroom and is suddenly confronted by a boy named Mada. Mada has been sent to protect Shin-chan, the hero. With his help, the still-unawakened Shin-chan defeats one enemy after another. But even stronger foes appear—can Shin-chan save the world?!
