It depicts the events from the Third Battle of Diahmat in October of Cosmic Year 795, Imperial Year 486, to the Battle of Astarte in February of Cosmic Year 796, Imperial Year 487. The young Imperial Fleet Admiral Reinhard and the Alliance's undefeated hero Yang Wenli first demonstrate their prowess in this film. The soundtrack employs symphonic music to enhance its grandeur, and the fleet battles are portrayed with immense scale. 　　 The film also weaves in the love triangle between Yang, La P, and Jessica. Beyond this, it largely serves as a repetition and supplement to episodes 1 and 2 of the main series.
