This film is filled with moving imagery throughout and has won numerous awards upon completion (including the 1984 Olympiad Animation Exhibition jury's recognition as "the greatest animated film of all time"). It is hailed as "the most beautiful animated film in the world." At the 2006 Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France, it was ranked sixth among "100 Works of the Animation Century."
