The original work is a shonen manga by Tadatoshi Fujimaki serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump," centered around high school basketball, and has expanded into a media mix including anime. It received the 12th Tokyo Anime Award Festival's Excellence Award in the Television category (TV Anime). Continuing from the first season, the second season began airing in October 2013.
Teikō Junior High School's basketball club boasts a glorious history of three consecutive national championships. Among them, the generation that produced five once-in-a-decade geniuses simultaneously was known as the "Generation of Miracles."
