"Robot Chicken" is an Emmy Award-winning American animated series created and executive produced by Seth Green and Matthew Senreich. They are also part of the writing team and have directed several episodes. Green additionally voices multiple characters in the show. The series uses various action figures, clay animation, and static stop-motion scenes to parody popular culture. The name "Robot Chicken" was inspired by a dish on the menu of a Chinese restaurant in West Hollywood where Green and Senreich were dining. The series was originally intended to be titled "Junk in the Trunk."[1] Although the show is called "Robot Chicken," the robot chicken only appears during the opening sequence of each episode. In the opening, a mad scientist finds a chicken that has been run over by a car on the roadside, brings it back to his laboratory, and transforms it into a half-mechanized chicken. He then straps it to a chair, uses reflectors to force its eyes open, and makes it stare at a wall of small television screens. The scenes on these screens gradually transition into the content of the show.
