RWBY, which stands for Red, White, Black, and Yellow, is an action-oriented animated series set to premiere in July 2013. RWBY is an acronym formed from the initial letters of Red, White, Black, and Yellow, representing the titles of the four female protagonists. It is produced by Monty Oum and his team at the American animation studio Rooster Teeth. According to the creators, the story is set in an independent and highly intriguing world, unrelated to any fairy tales. Therefore, connections such as Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, and Little Red Riding Hood are merely fan speculation. However, the four main characters are named Ruby, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long. Hence, the series is temporarily abbreviated as RWBY.
