Depicting "the chaotic dance of fusion lifeforms between humans and Buddhist statues," the mysterious and bizarre anime "Burning Buddha Man" (Moeru Butsuzou Ningen) was announced on February 3rd, along with the release of a promotional video. Notably, the voice actress for the heroine Beniko, Yukari Iguchi, will also appear in approximately three minutes of live-action footage featured at the beginning and end of the film.
In the story of "Burning Buddha Man," the protagonist Beniko is a girl raised in a temple. However, recently, the Buddhist statues in the temple have been stolen one after another, and Beniko's parents have been tragically murdered. Consequently, Beniko is forced to move to a temple run by her father's friend. There, she encounters fusion beings of humans and Buddhist statues known as "Buddha Men"... This work will be produced using the "caricature" (戏画) presentation technique, considered the origin of animation, aiming to captivate the audience with its overwhelming drawing power and unique worldview.
