In 14th-century France, Villain is a peasant who often prays devoutly to Saint Martin. Moved by this piety, the saint appears to the farmer with four wishes. The villain tells his strong and incredible wife, who laughs and wishes for her husband's anatomical structure to be altered. Saint Martin complies, and the rogue responds with his own wish regarding his wife's body. They now find themselves in a predicament; the lady makes another wish, leaving the two with even less than they started with. They indeed have one final and inevitable wish. After completing the task, Saint Martin sighs, offers a final piece of advice, and departs for heaven.
