The story takes place in a rural village in the southern mountainous region. It primarily revolves around the daily life of a mischievous fat cat after accidentally injuring its head. "Fat Cat's Story" is presented in the form of a silent series, with each episode essentially being a standalone story. In addition to the main supporting character, Little Bird, each episode frequently features various other supporting characters, such as the hardworking and simple-minded Old Pig and his family, the idle and lazy troublemakers known as the Three Young Masters, the silly and naive Goofy Sheep, the honest and diligent Wild Boar, the strong and robust Big Bear, the two-faced Little White Dog, the eccentric professional swindler Old Wolf, and the reclusive and peculiar Old Turtle who hides deep in the mountains to cultivate his temperament.
