【Day 1】
I don't have the habit of keeping a diary. But since I might die here, I should leave something behind.
Let's tidy up the dorm first—who knows if I'll still be sleeping here tomorrow.
【Day 3】
A roommate moved in. It seems all singers who passed the preliminary selection are being gathered here.
She's a girl with pointy ears, so beautiful she looks like she stepped out of an elf novel.
【Day 5】
Uncle came to see me today and brought some tasty snacks.
The person with him seemed to be the pointy-eared girl's agent—a very pretty, scholarly-looking auntie.
【Day 7】
Another planet was destroyed today.
In the broadcast, we saw that desert planet shatter in a flash of light, then turn to dust.
The pointy-eared girl didn't speak all afternoon.
【Day 13】
The pointy-eared girl is using space food as clay to play with.
That fruity cream puff stuff is surprisingly malleable—she's shaping them into tiny planets.
Under the light, their surfaces gleam with a translucent glow. The vibrant colors look just like real land and sea.
She carefully arranges one fragrant, fruity creation after another on the table, as if decorating a home she plans to live in for a long time.
【Day 19】
Every time a civilization is destroyed, the pointy-eared girl immediately molds a cream puff model of it. Today, on a whim, she used blueberry and green apple cream puffs to create a blue-and-green planet we've never seen before.
"Could there really be such a place in the universe?" she asked.
Watching her earnest expression as she arranged each fragrant, tempting creation on the table, I resisted the urge to lick every single one.
【Day (?)】
I had a dream.
I saw many people. Some I knew, most I'd never met.
I saw a brand-new planet. The pointy-eared girl was right beside me.
The wind brushed our cheeks, the sunset sank into the sea. The two of us, along with Uncle and that agent auntie, walked side by side on the soft sandy beach.
Everything felt so real it was hard to leave, as if we had truly lived there.
Those moments that made my heart tremble grew more frequent, more connected, more tangible.
On that blue-and-green planet... the one we imagined together...
【Day 20】
Is it true that the universe is full of wonders? When I talked with the pointy-eared girl about last night's dream, she told me she had dreamed of the exact same world.
Even though tomorrow is the day before the quarterfinal draw, we happily recalled the details of our time together on that blue planet.
As if it weren't a dream at all.
【Day 22】
Couldn't sleep. Heard the pointy-eared girl crying quietly.
Based on the draw results earlier, the day after tomorrow, one bed in this dorm will be empty.
I should get up and talk with her... probably for the last time.
If only one day we could really go to that place together.
【Day 23】
......
Then let's keep our promise, pointy ears.
No matter who survives.
We'll go find our star.
It must be waiting for us somewhere.
【......】
My—our—story.
Will it also be written by another civilization in some other corner of the universe?
The readers there will surely see what I'm thinking now.
Suddenly, I'm utterly convinced—there really is such an azure-blue planet, even if it only existed once.
That world grows clearer and clearer.
There, you'll find spicy hot pots and delicious pies with the filling on the outside.
There, the sea isn't stained a sickly gray by waste, and the sandy beach bears the footprints of the pointy-eared girl and me, side by side.
There, people struggle and cry too, but they support each other and walk earnestly forward.
There, everyone raises a glass to celebrate with those who've walked beside them through an entire year.
If such a place really exists...
If the people there can truly read all of this—at the very least, I hope you remember our song.
