Jack, the son of an old shoemaker, is a kind-hearted boy who often helps his mother deliver goods to customers at the market. Though the work is hard, Jack finds joy in it. One day, an evil witch approaches Jack, intending to exploit his good-hearted nature to carry out her malicious plan—to seize the entire kingdom. Jack refuses the witch's demands, which enrages her. In her fury, she casts a spell, stealing seven precious years of his life. For those seven years, Jack lives as if in a long dream, transformed into a squirrel and forced to work for the witch. Moreover, the witch makes him hideously ugly—turning him into a dwarf with a huge nose—until he submits.
Preferring to endure suffering rather than aid evil, Jack returns to his hometown after seven years of disappearance, now bearing an ugly appearance. However, his hometown has changed beyond recognition: not only has his father passed away, but his mother fails to recognize him. He faces mockery, bullying, and expulsion from the townsfolk, leaving him heartbroken and unsure of what to do. Yet he does not give up. Relying on the exquisite culinary skills he learned from the witch, Jack becomes the head chef at the duke's estate, earning the duke's appreciation and the respect of the world. One day, the kind-hearted Jack buys a goose at the market for dinner, only to discover that it is actually the king's beloved daughter—Princess Greta.
It turns out that the princess overheard the witch's plan to seize the entire kingdom, was kidnapped, and cursed into a goose. Jack and Greta get along wonderfully, but their happiness is short-lived. A picky gourmet arrives at the duke's estate, and a dish called "Queen's Pie" leaves Jack stumped. With Princess Greta's guidance, Jack learns that the pie lacks a rare ingredient: sneeze herb. Little does Jack know that the day he finds the sneeze herb will also be the day he regains his original appearance. Overjoyed, Jack returns to his mother's side.
